Have Your Say - 20 July to 30 September 2026

Powys Teaching Health Board has received an application from the Llanfyllin Group Practice to close their GP branch surgery in Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant.

The practice’s reason for submitting the application is that they consider their multi-site rural practice model to be financially unsustainable under the current national General Medical Services funding model in Wales.

The application is being considered in accordance with the Health Board Branch Practice Review Process. This process ensures that applications for branch closures are given careful and thorough consideration before any decisions are made on the way forward.

The Branch Practice Review includes:

We would like to capture your views before any decision about the future of the branch is taken.  If you are completing the questionnaire on behalf of someone else who is unable to do so themselves, then please answer all the questions as they would including the About You details.

    Please note:

When analysing survey responses Powys Teaching Health Board PTHB uses the following approach.  1) Every survey response is read by a member of the service or Engagement team to ensure they have a complete overview of the sentiment and nature of the feedback received 2) Artificial Intelligence then may be used to help to draw out key themes from the comments/feedback given.
