Domestic transport is a major source of UK CO2 emissions. National and Welsh policies are supporting the rollout of electric vehicle infrastructure (EVI), with the aim that by 2035 no new petrol and diesel vehicles will be sold.

Powys County Council has drafted the Electric Vehicle Strategy, which outlines the local context, factors affecting EV uptake, charging technologies, charge-point deployment, and the Council’s role, along with short-, medium- and long-term actions. Given the geography and rural nature of Powys, the strategy proposes a ‘demand-led’ approach, where key indicators (such as population density etc.) are identified and inform the deployment of EVI. We would like your feedback on the strategy to understand how it could best meet the needs of people who drive in Powys.
