Have Your Say

Powys Teaching Health Board implemented some temporary changes to two services in December 2024.   They were:

  • A change to the opening hours (8am to 8pm) for the Minor Injury Units (MIUs) in Brecon and Llandrindod Wells.
  • Implementation of two Ready to Go Home Units (RTGHUs) in Llanidloes and Bronllys in combination with strengthened inpatient rehabilitation at Brecon and Newtown.

As a health board, our core mission is to provide and commission safe services that offer the best outcomes for patients. These are changes we have put in place on a temporary basis.  They were required to optimise the care of all patients; safeguard the services; improve resilience where it is currently fragile; reduce inefficiencies and respond to staffing and budgetary pressures.

Powys Teaching Health Board uses a locality-based model to plan services. These proposals would impact some localities/areas more than others so it's useful to understand and analyse responses in this way.  Could you please tell us which Powys locality you live in or nearest to?
