CLOSED: Next Steps on Temporary Service Change Engagement. Our engagement on proposals for some temporary service changes on Minor Injury Units and inpatient beds in Powys community hospitals has now closed.
Analysis is now underway, and we would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to give their views.
We will be producing a comprehensive report which will include details of the feedback received and recommendations. This report will be discussed in public at a meeting of the Board on Thursday 10 October. The agenda and papers will be available in advance.
Have Your Say
Powys Teaching Health Board implemented some temporary changes to two services in December 2024. They were:
- A change to the opening hours (8am to 8pm) for the Minor Injury Units (MIUs) in Brecon and Llandrindod Wells.
- Implementation of two Ready to Go Home Units (RTGHUs) in Llanidloes and Bronllys in combination with strengthened inpatient rehabilitation at Brecon and Newtown.
As a health board, our core mission is to provide and commission safe services that offer the best outcomes for patients. These are changes we have put in place on a temporary basis. They were required to optimise the care of all patients; safeguard the services; improve resilience where it is currently fragile; reduce inefficiencies and respond to staffing and budgetary pressures.
