The council is preparing a new Local Housing Market Assessment (LHMA). The assessment includes evidence of existing housing needs in Powys and an estimate of new housing needs arising in the next fifteen years.
The evidence gathered through the assessment provides an evidence-base. This evidence informs local housing policy decisions and the Social Housing Grant Programme to build affordable homes.
The LHMA also forms part of the evidence base for both Powys and Bannau Brycheiniog local planning authorities. The assessment is a key consideration in determining the location of housing growth in their development plans.
We have started with the assessment and are now seeking your feedback. The attached document gives information and context to better understand the LHMA.
If you have any queries or would like to speak to a person, please contact henk.jan.kuipers@powys.gov.uk / 01938 551025.
