Consultation has concluded

As you may be aware, the Council is working on exciting plans to increase the size of the planned replacement building for Ysgol Calon y Dderwen, which was established in September 2021 following the merger of Ladywell Green Infants School and Hafren Junior School.

To ensure that as many pupils as possible can benefit from the fantastic new facilities that will be provided at the new building, we are considering increasing the size of the building so that more pupils can attend, potentially all pupils currently attending Ysgol Calon y Dderwen, Maesyrhandir C.P. School and Treowen C.P. School.

We are at a very early stage in exploring this idea. To understand what the impact of any changes to these schools might be, we are undertaking a period of dialogue with the three school communities, to help us understand any areas of concern or local issues that we need to be aware of. As part of this, we will meeting with staff and governors at the three schools. We are also providing an opportunity for parents to share their thoughts with us by completing this short questionnaire. The closing date for completing the questionnaire is the 23 July 2023.
