Powys County Council is consulting on a proposal to close Churchstoke C.P. School from the 31st August 2022, with pupils to attend their nearest alternative schools.
This consultation is being held in accordance with the School Organisation Code (2018) and School Standards and Organisation (Wales) Act 2013.
Consultation started on the 21st April 2021 and will end on the 9th June 2021.

Following the recent consultation held by Powys County Council on a proposal to close Churchstoke C.P. School from the 31st August 2022, the Council has now published a Consultation Report. The report summarises the issues that were raised during the consultation, and provides the Council's response to those issues.
The Council's Cabinet considered the Consultation Report on the 23rd November, and agreed to end the process to close Churchstoke C.P. School.
However, concerns remain regarding the school which need to be addressed and Cabinet gave the go-ahead for the council to further consider options to address these concerns. A further report will be brought back to Cabinet in due course.
