Refurbishment and use of Bronllys Hospital Chapel

Help shape the future of Bronllys Hospital Chapel  

The Grade II listed chapel at Bronllys Hospital was built in 1920 as part of the plans for the new South Wales tuberculosis Sanatorium

Designed in the Arts and Crafts style by architects Edwin T. Hall and Stanley Hall, the Chapel has long provided a place for worship, reflection and support within the hospital grounds.

The Chapel and surrounding hospital parkland form part of an important historic site and remain owned by Powys Teaching Health Board.

Why are we asking your views?

Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) is exploring opportunities to secure external funding to refurbish the Chapel at Bronllys Hospital.

We would like to understand how patients, staff, families, local residents, faith groups and community organisations would like the Chapel to be used in the future.

The Chapel is intended to serve as a respectful shared, multi-purpose space welcoming and including all faiths; supporting reflection, religious and spiritual activities, pastoral services, wellbeing and wider community-linked activities in keeping with the Health Board’s values.

Your feedback will help demonstrate the need for the project, shape the Chapel's future use, and support funding applications.
